About
We’re Alex and Lucy, aka My Lovely Haunting. Thanks for stopping by!
We enjoy blending reverb-soaked vocals, cinematic soundscapes and haunting folk melodies. Somewhere along the way, we started calling it Bladerunner Folk. It’s raw but immersive – the kind of music that conjures neon-lit rain, forgotten VHS tapes, and secret performances hidden in the shadows of old city buildings.
Alex comes from a background in film and photography, which definitely seeps into everything we create. He works in the film industry and has a love for analogue gear, sci-fi soundtracks, and tactile sound experiments. His instinct for creating emotive, cinematic textures makes everything feel like it belongs in the soundtrack of some lost sci-fi classic.
Lucy has a background in neoclassical music, previously releasing instrumental work under the name Luminem. But songwriting has always been her first love – she tends to write folkesque melodies that linger in the mind like half-remembered dreams. With a voice both delicate and commanding, she weaves songs of longing, nostalgia and beauty.
We never set out to start a band. It started with a few casual jams, organically evolved and took on a life of its own. It was a simple folk project at first, until Alex plugged a reverb pedal into Lucy’s acoustic guitar. Suddenly, space itself became an instrument – expanding, shifting and transporting everything we played.
Star Gazing and One More Day are the first releases from our debut album, Forgotten Moon, which arrives in November.
We’re excited to share the world of My Lovely Haunting with you!
