Forgotten Moon

From its epic cinematic “Intro” right through to its eery and ambient closing piece “Carnival”, our debut album Forgotten Moon has been carefully crafted to take listeners on an evocative and soul-stirring journey.

Each track tells its own story, but the album truly comes alive when heard from start to finish — a cinematic progression that moves through moments of raw vulnerability, atmospheric soundscapes and poetic storytelling.

Lost Again

Lost Again is a song about pain and the many forms it takes. The first iteration of the song was completely improvised. Lucy started playing a haunting melody on the synth, and Alex started singing over the top. There was something about it that felt deeply sad, but beautiful as well. We captured that first recording, and the song retains the lyrics and emotion of that first recording in its final production.

The Window

This song feels especially close to our hearts. At its core is a simple refrain: “I love and accept myself for who I am. I may not be perfect, but I do what I can.” These words began as a mantra Lucy would sing to herself in difficult times. Over time, it evolved into a simple acoustic folk song, and then after a few band jams with Alex wound up being an epic cinematic folk ballad!

At the start we felt quite self-conscious singing those lyrics out loud. It has gotten easier over time, but even now it still feels vulnerable.

We hope it connects with you in whatever way, and is a reminder that we’re all on this human journey together.

One More Day

One More Day doesn’t follow a conventional song structure, and that was very intentional. We allowed the piece to evolve naturally, following the flow of the music rather than forcing it into something familiar.

The result is a track that transports listeners on an unexpected, epic journey. We hope you enjoy the ride!

Star Gazing

Star Gazing was the first track where our folk roots and cinematic production really came together in a way that felt like ‘us’. It’s where My Lovely Haunting truly began.

At its heart, it is a song about emotional overwhelm. When the noise inside your head becomes too much, and the only relief is stepping outside and looking up.

Those moments when you don’t quite know how to talk about what you're feeling. Instead, you find solace in something simple and vast – like the night sky.

Star Gazing is the first release from our debut album Forgotten Moon, due out in November.
